Festive Fizz

We are all chasing good fizz for the festive season and the choice is huge. With offers in all price categories it can be overwhelming to pick a fizz that suits your budget and your taste buds. Know the impact on quality, price and flavour of production methods – traditional method or tank method, country and region of origin.

Cremant, made using the same method as Champagne, of which there are 8 regions in France, offer excellent value but very different aroma and taste depending on which grape variety they are made from. Italian fizz is so much more than Prosecco DOC. Discounters Aldi and Lidl can be real treasure troves for wine made by small grower-producers of Champagne. And of course, there are the UK producers.

Our wine events are never dull or intimidating. Come along and build up confidence together with other wine enthusiasts in our wonderful premises off Hills Road.

                     All wine events include hand made bread and a little bit of cheese and charcuteries.

How to find us

The Cookery School, café & wine bar is located at the end of Purbeck Road which comes off Hills Road by the sixth form college.

As you near the end of Purbeck Road, turn left in front of Abbey college into Homerton Gardens.

We have parking for 4-5 cars and whilst spittoons will be made available this is probably a leave-your-car-at-home-event.
