Whether you have attended our Kitchen Confidence beginners class, or simply wish to expand your repertoire at home, this class aims to increase confidence and variety in the kitchen. Cooking from scratch, using unadulterated raw ingredients, means an investment in both eating well and keeping well. Not to mention the satisfaction that comes from being confident in the kitchen!
This class covers essential skills for more autonomy in the kitchen based on a sound understanding of the holy trinity of cooking skills: timing, temperature & seasoning. Why softening onions are so essential, why browning protein – plant & animal based – is vital for flavour and how to get timings right.
This class will cover a delicious seasonal soup, crunchy roast potatoes, cooking vegetables for more vitamin retention and flavour, Mediterranean style baked fish, a delicious whole roasted chicken with carrot, fennel & orange and Creamy Dijon sauce – resulting in perfect leftovers. Our entire team are great lovers of healthy eating and also of good and bread without any of the long list of additives that come with shop-bought bread which is why we wanted to share mixed multi seed bread rolls which take a total of 15 min to make and the same time to bake. We finish off with a take on a sure-fire, winning dessert; crunchy caramel apple crumble.

We are found at the very end of Purbeck Road (off Hills Rd by the sixth form centre) where you turn left on the corner of Abbey college and then carry straight on for about 100. We have 2-3 parking spaces by our door.
