10 years ago, we were the first café in Cambridge to be awarded a zero food waste award.
Within hours of introducing our trail blazing gut friendly menu in the café, we started to receive amazing feedback – and requests for gut friendly classes sharing our plant based, fermented, acidic, pre- & probiotic informed cooking. This is how most of our team of Cordon Bleu and Leiths trained chefs eat and we feel the benefits. Higher energy levels, fewer cravings, longer gaps between meals to allow the gut much needed rest. And of course, the joy of feasting on delicious, sumptuous & abundant meals.
This class includes delicious dishes which bring joy from breakfast through to dinner.
We begin this class by making a healthy shot and some eggs with our own fermented hot sauce.
We then embark on making Kimchi, for guests to bring home to bring to full maturity, while we talk about how to ferment and pickle at home.
We move on to make our house rye, our popular 25-plants in one Chickpea dish and Dal and share some of our ever-popular big salads, using seasonal ingredients and gut boosting vinaigrettes. First and foremost, we share the joyful insight that when it comes to the gut, less is rarely more – more is more!
We are not aiming for this concept to be vegetarian but most of the recipes are – or work just as well without animal protein.
We are found at the very end of Purbeck Road (off Hills Rd by the sixth form centre) where you turn left by Abbey college and then carry straight on for about 60m to the white awnings you will see ahead.
Please note that there is very limited parking on site. We recommend the multi storey at the Leisure Centre less than 10min walk away or the Babraham Park & Ride which stops on Hills Road, very close to Purbeck Rd.
CANCELLATIONS: 72h prior to class for a move to a future date and 7 days for a full refund
