Details

At some point in the not too distant future, your teen will leave home and independent cooking will become essential.

The course assumes focus and stamina from students as we work at a high tempo. Students do all the clearing and washing up between meals and will be on their feet for best part of the 6 hours, except for sitting down to eat. The kitchen is a professional environment with top of the range appliances and the teacher are Cordon Bleu professionals.

The program includes:

Health, safety and hygiene in the kitchen

Sustainable cooking

Knife skills

Organisation and timing

10-minute meals for under £3

Weekly meal planning and loving leftovers

Healthy breakfasts

Plant based cooking – how to cut down on animal protein and create delicious meals from pulses and vegetables

How to cook a roast

How to cook fish

How to bake cakes and basic bread

Full recipe packs included.

Parents can enjoy our free wi-fi, coffee, cake and lunch if dropping off, waiting or picking up.

We are found at the very end of Purbeck Road (off Hills Rd by the sixth form centre) where you turn left by Abbey college and then carry straight on for about 60m to the white awnings you will see ahead.

Please note that there is very limited parking on site. We recommend the multi storey at the Leisure Centre less than 10min walk away or the Babraham Park & Ride which stops on Hills Road, very close to Purbeck Rd.
