Truffle hunting in Italy

Our intimate, off the beaten track culinary trips to Le Marche on Italy’s Adriatic coast offer an exclusive and genuine insight into a little known part of Italy. This autumn trip takes us to the stunning hill top town of Urbino, a UNESCO world heritage site and the birth place of the Italian renaissance. Urbino is a gem, and we stay at a 4-star, converted convent in the epi-centre of this small exquisite hill town while making excursions to the annual Truffle Festival in nearby Acqualagna. We also visit the house of Renaissance painter Rafaelo and the Ducal Palace which houses the outstanding National Art collection of Le Marche.

We join Paolo and his amazing dogs for a truffle hunt, we learn how to sniff, feel and assess truffles, we join the hustle and bustle of the small central square with its truffle market and fresh food stalls, join food and wine tastings and visit superb restaurants during a 72-hour truffle extravaganza!
