Truffle Hunting in eastern Italy

We are off next week for our annual Truffle Trip to the gorgeous and unknown eastern county of Le Marche in central Italy. The coastline is charming, with azure blue water and sandy beaches reminiscent of the Caribbean,  and delightful small towns inside Roman walls and with Baroque town centres. However, we head west, into the emerald green hills and lower mountains of the Montefeltro, with UNESCO World Heritage Site Urbino as our base.  From there, we launch 72 hours or wall-to-wall indulgence. We eat meals infused with fresh black and white truffles, visit wineries for tastings and walk out with a local truffle hunter and his dogs.

We can't wait and feel as excited as our guests!

Jazz on a Summer's Eve Saturday 23rd June

As part of our wish to offer high quality music by talented local artists, and making full use of our large terrace in its tranquil setting, we have great please in welcoming our next artists on Saturday 23rd June. Enjoy while dining or sampling our wines and tapas.

The Alex Merritt/ Phil Stevenson Duo

Alex Merritt- Tenor Saxophone

Phil Stevenson- Guitar

'This exciting jazz duo will premier a new jazz night at the Cambridge Cookery School. Not to be missed, this collaboration sees two brilliant musicians originally hailing from Cambridge joining forces to create their own brand of melodic and lyrical jazz - drawing on the standard repertoire, more traditional influences as well as those more contemporary.

Alex Merritt, whose debut album 'Anatta' with the Alex Merritt Quartet (featuring American drummer Jeff Williams) made a strong impression on the UK jazz scene in and was described as "one of the best UK jazz albums I have heard this year" (Stephen Graham, Marlbank, 2016) and "a promising debut of striking quality" by the Guardian's John Fordham, has recently made Cambridge his base and is excited about this new night in this wonderful setting.

Alex is joined by Phil Stevenson for this duo concert. Phil is a fabulous, versatile guitarist who is equally at home playing funk, New Orleans and raw blues as well as jazz. Phil's trio, featuring the talents of Pat Levett on drums and Bill Mudge on Hammond organ, have played their own original material, drawing on all of these influences at The Southbank 'Pull out all the stops' festival, The Archduke in SE1 and Jazz at the Salisbury.
