Cambridge Cookery is an award-winning cookery school and neighbourhood deli and café.

History

Cambridge Cookery was founded as Cambridge Cookery School in 2008 by chef and food writer Tine Roche. In 2015 Cambridge Cookery School expanded to include a café, restaurant and wine bar, taking over the former headquarters of Rattee and Kett stonemasons, which was established in 1843 on Purbeck Road, Cambridge. In 2017, the business was relaunched as Cambridge Cookery, comprising both the school and the café/restaurant.

Culinary Experiences

Since 2008, Cambridge Cookery School has been running award winning cookery courses covering a broad range of culinary traditions and cuisines. Our passionate team of experienced and friendly chefs offer inspiring and enjoyable classes for every age and level of cook, in our stunning, contemporary kitchen. We offer high quality Culinary Trips, giving participants an insight into regions we are very familiar with, working with suppliers and producers with whom we’ve built strong relationships. We are approved Duke of Edinburgh course providers, offer school holiday classes for budding young chefs, and ‘Cook for Uni’ classes for those about to leave the nest. We work with prestigious chalet companies providing training for Chalet Chefs. Our cookery school operates from a large, airy contemporary kitchen, brilliantly equipped with the best quality equipment, and using the best ingredients. We offer great corporate team activities, regularly welcome hen and birthday party groups, and offer private dining and outside catering services, tailoring our service for each event.

Café & Restaurant

Since 2015, Cambridge Cookery has been welcoming customers into its relaxing neighbourhood café, and since 2020, to the deli also. Using locally sourced, sustainable ingredients, our dishes are lovingly handmade, with a strong Scandinavian and Italian influence, by our team of passionate and experienced chefs. Cambridge Cookery is a neighbourhood meeting place, a relaxing hub of seriously good food and coffee, handmade and selected from the finest suppliers. Join us for coffee and handmade pastries and cakes, breakfast, brunch, lunch, and to stock up on fine foods from our deli. We're also open on occasional evenings for pop-up dinners.

Ethos

We believe in slow food, sustainable ingredients and know all of our suppliers well. Everything we serve is handmade on our premises. We’re also big dog fans and welcome your furry friends into our café!
