This class offers wonderful doable and delicious alternatives to some of our best loved farinaceous dishes – from breakfast pancakes via breads to Pizza base.
Gluten are the building blocks which give structure and texture to many dishes based on flour. Without it, it can be very difficult to achieve pleasing results, particularly when it comes to texture.
We begin this class with sharing the recipes for a couple of our most popular breakfast dishes in the café – Banana pancakes and Buckwheat & Blueberry porridge.
We then move on to the most tricky area of gluten free cooking – making good quality, yeast risen bread. We make a dark tinned loaf based on Teff flour – an Ethiopian grass which lends wonderful flavour and texture. We make good gluten free pizza and pasta, before moving onto our much celebrated Brownie recipe.
We are found at the very end of Purbeck Road (off Hills Rd by the sixth form centre) where you turn left by Abbey college and then carry straight on for about 60m to the white awnings you will see ahead.
Please note that there is very limited parking on site. We recommend the multi storey at the Leisure Centre less than 10min walk away or the Babraham Park & Ride which stops on Hills Road, very close to Purbeck Rd.
